The Grouse well-known brand of blended Scotch whisky, first created by Matthew Gloag & Son in 1896, and presently produced and owned by The Edrington Group. The single malt whiskies used in The Famous Grouse blend consist of The Macallan and Edrington-owned adz. It symbolizes the red Grouse, Scotland's national game bird.

Since 1980, It has been recognized as the best selling whisky brand in Scotland. As a standard range blended Scotch whisky, its chief competitors in its home market are Teachers, Bell's, and Grant's. The popularity of its sales in the United Kingdom is during the Christmas period.

William Gloag, his son, had taken over the company in 1860. Subsequently, the firm's Great French Wine Blight commenced establishing its blended whiskies around 1875. In 1896,

William's nephew, Matthew Gloag (1850-1912), had taken over the family business. He started a new blended brand called The Grouse in 1896.

The famous Grouse finest 70 cl color has a pale yellow gold, just like a pilsner. The aromas of the whiskey have some barely intense and lots of oak. Moreover, it has an intense as well as a mild fruity touch reminiscent of an oaky chardonnay.

The taste of the whiskey is quite sweet up front, along with the minimal touches of crème Brulee as well as vanilla custard essence.
