With the Glenlivet 12 Years Licensed Dram, we know what to anticipate. It is once more unpeated, but that's acceptable because George Smith is also credited with developing a novel whisky style while operating as a licensed distiller.

There appears to be a lot of fudge, some honey, and hints of hazelnut on the nose. Then come pears stewed in port and strawberry jam, along with hints of licorice and almonds. Finally, a hint of peaches and orange zest.

It has a creamy texture and an entrance that is sweet and honeyed. The initial flavor is malty, a little bit dry and nutty, with a punch of spice. Consider cloves, ginger, and white pepper. The final notes are apple peel and melon, followed by some herbal undertones.

Crushed mint and sage are lingering flavors in the overall aftertaste. Ending with honey and refined sugar's sweeter undertones.
