On Christmas Day in 1787, John Harvey personally chose the whisky to be consumed only by family in his capacity as the company's chairman. This unique and closely-guarded family whisky, SPEY, was dubbed "Chairman's Choice" by John Harvey.
In order to allow friends and relatives to share this exceptional gift and magnificent heritage, the current Chairman, John McDonough (sr.), now manages a small global allocation of the Chairman's choosing.

A highly well-liked Speyside Distillery multi-vintage release. Drawn from various stock ages to provide a warm, smooth dram that is packed with flavor and complexity. This is our best-selling product, and layers of flavor and richness are added using a blend of Bourbon and Sherry casks. It has medium tears, long, medium legs, and dark amber gold that is almost bronze in color (11/20).

On Nose, it is scrumptious new apples! Calvados, floral notes, a delicious pear flavor, then some malty sugars, a toasted flavor, soft brown sugar, a woodsy oak flavor, vanilla, and honey.

Taste like Orchard fruits, including apple, pear, and some green bananas, creamy vanilla, sugary malt, cereal in equal measure, vanilla fudge and spice, oak wood, and afterward hints of leather and dried fruit along with the finish like Oak wood that is long, sweet, and slightly peppery.

It is very simple to drink, with a background of Spey's light spirit and some great depth. Full of a variety of young fruits balanced by the maturation of oak wood.
