We were persuaded to buy a bottle of this frequently disregarded whisky after taking a brief vacation from it and after briefly exploring the worlds of fine beers and wines. Thus, we acted. It can be difficult to continue this boozy adventure in Moscow, given the skyrocketing prices of whisky and the declining worth of the Russian ruble. But since this bottle's price was so attractive, we decided to give it a try. What do we think, then?

One of the most complex smells I've ever encountered in a mild Speyside whisky, to be exact. Many malt, hay, sweet, and fruity flavors. There is a Russian kind of rock candy, which is merely melted sugar blended with various colors and dried into the form of a rooster. And it is unquestionably here. Acacia honey, vanilla, a trace of green pepper, some grassy notes, and lemon flesh and peel. Pears in sugar syrup in a can. Hints of orange zest, banana custard, nuts, and a faint hint of menthol toothpaste; (but in a good way). Cinnamon, namely cinnamon verum since this kind has a more sweet-smelling aroma. And finally, parsley and a touch of peat (almost indiscernible).

The finish has a malty flavor and hints of fresh white fruits and tart kiwis. Very long but delicate. In fact, it is so subtle that it is simple to miss.

To put it lightly, the change from the aroma to the palate is abrupt. In fact, it is so strong that it hinders the expression of the whisky's flavors. It somewhat conceals them. Is it a nice whisky, then? Unquestionably worth a shot. Would we repurchase it? We might reconsider. We do like the nose. Not as much of a taste. However, it's not awful.
