It would have seemed absurd to think that John Dewar's name would become indelibly linked to Scotch whisky when he first opened his wine and spirits shop in Perth in 1846. But that is exactly what took place. John experimented with producing distinctive whiskies tailored to the preferences of his various clients, but it wasn't until the firm was passed over to his sons John Alexander and Thomas in 1880 that things really started to take off.

The brothers made a good team. In order to ensure the whisky's quality, John streamlined the home production procedure.

As a true maverick, Tommy, on the other hand, set out to revolutionize the whisky industry by travelling the globe. He appointed thirty sales reps while travelling to a staggering 26 nations in just two years.

First, strawberry and raspberry. Then walnuts and spices, like cinnamon and ginger. A hint of oak Chile powder. Coconut with almond. Tangerine and apple.

The Port accent is immediately noticeable. Orange and plum are combined with strawberry and cranberry. Together with nutmeg and cinnamon, a dry, smoky spice. Orange citrus flavouring. A tiny touch of honey

Cumin and oak. Strangely, there's something about this that makes me think of sipping orange juice after cleaning my teeth, which we now realize is a bad idea. The whisky isn't bad, but for some reason, it brings back those memories. The brain of a person is a sophisticated organ.

Really, there isn't anything wrong with the price. Even though it's bottled at 40%, the colour and flavour are both natural. A combination of high-calibre Scotch that is reasonably priced.
